Two 2027 GMC Yukon Denali Packages Are No Longer Orderable, GM Authority Reports

For buyers shopping the 2027 GMC Yukon Denali, two of the SUV’s more distinctive appearance packages have suddenly become harder to get. GM Authority reports that dealers can no longer place new orders for the Denali Sport Nightfall Edition and Denali Appearance Package on the regular Denali trim. Both are dealer-installed option groups built around black exterior details, and both share one important component: a Black mesh grille. That common part appears to be behind the current ordering restriction.

The situation is notable because GMC continues to publicly promote the Nightfall treatment, and the packages were part of the 2027 Yukon’s recently published option lineup. For now, the evidence points to a supply or ordering constraint rather than a permanent cancellation, making the distinction especially important for customers already searching dealer inventories.

Denali Sport Nightfall Edition Becomes the Bigger Missing Option

The more expensive of the two affected packages is the Denali Sport Nightfall Edition, identified by GM’s PDK ordering code. It was designed to give the luxury-focused Denali a much darker, more aggressive appearance without changing the underlying mechanical package. According to 2027 pricing and equipment information, the Nightfall treatment bundles 24-inch Black wheels with Black center caps, Black nameplates, Black mirror caps and the Black mesh grille. GMC’s own public-facing Yukon Denali material also promotes the edition with Black GMC emblems, making the package a noticeable departure from the traditional bright exterior detailing associated with Denali models. On such a large SUV, the 24-inch wheels are particularly significant visually; they fill the Yukon’s wheel openings and turn what is normally a chrome-heavy luxury design into something much closer to a factory-customized blackout build. The package had been priced at $6,000 on the 2027 Yukon Denali. Ordering the SUV in Onyx Black reduced that figure to $5,700 because separate Black mirror caps were not required with that paint choice. Those are substantial numbers for an appearance package, but they also show how aggressively GMC has expanded customization at the upper end of the Yukon range. The 2027 Denali itself starts above $83,000 before options, putting the Nightfall-equipped version well into premium-SUV territory even before additional technology, towing or suspension equipment is selected.

GM Authority reported on October 2 that the Nightfall package is currently unavailable to order on the Denali because of what appears to be a constraint involving the Black mesh grille, RPO code SJB. That wording matters. There is no indication in the report that GMC has permanently killed the Nightfall Edition for the entire 2027 model year, and GMC’s current Denali webpage still presents the package as a featured edition. Instead, the situation resembles the option constraints that frequently appear when automakers cannot secure enough of a particular wheel, trim component, electronic module or accessory to support new factory orders. For someone walking into a dealership, that can produce a slightly confusing experience: marketing materials may still show the vehicle, yet the ordering system may temporarily prevent a dealer from configuring it. Existing inventory provides another wrinkle. A Yukon already built, allocated or ordered before the restriction may still carry equipment that customers can no longer add to a fresh order, so dealer searches could uncover Nightfall-equipped vehicles even while new orders remain blocked. GM Authority also reports that the package continues to be available on the more expensive Denali Ultimate, where the problematic Black mesh grille is omitted from the package configuration. That suggests the underlying issue is narrower than a decision to abandon blacked-out Denali styling altogether. For buyers specifically interested in the standard Denali, however, the loss is meaningful because the Nightfall package bundled several visually coordinated pieces into one factory-supported selection rather than requiring owners to recreate the look separately after purchase.

Denali Appearance Package Is Also Caught by the Black-Grille Constraint

The second affected option is the Denali Appearance Package, RPO code RGE, a less expensive route to much of the same darkened look. Rather than building the package around 24-inch Black wheels, GMC combined an illuminated front Black GMC emblem with Black nameplates, Black mirror caps and the same Black mesh grille used by the Nightfall package. That made it a more restrained choice for buyers who wanted to tone down the traditional Denali brightwork without committing thousands of dollars to oversized Black wheels. Published 2027 pricing put the package at $2,295 on the Yukon Denali, dropping to $2,045 when Onyx Black paint was selected because Black mirror caps were unnecessary on that configuration. Dealer-order information for actual 2027 Yukon Denali vehicles supports those equipment details, listing the illuminated Black emblem, Black mirror caps, Black nameplates and dealer-installed Black mesh grille under the RGE package. It is an important confirmation because option lists can change quickly during a model year, particularly with dealer-installed accessories. The same package also appeared in 2027 Yukon pricing data shortly before the latest restriction was reported. That timing helps explain why shoppers may continue to find websites, inventory records and configuration pages that still show the option even though GM Authority says new Denali orders cannot presently be submitted with it.

The common Black mesh grille provides the clearest explanation for why both packages were affected at the same time. GM Authority specifically identifies the grille as the apparent source of the ordering constraint because it is the component shared by both Denali packages. The fact that the appearance treatments reportedly remain available on the Denali Ultimate when configured without that grille strengthens that interpretation, although General Motors has not publicly announced a detailed cause or timetable for restoring availability. It would therefore be premature to describe either package as discontinued. A temporary part shortage could be resolved later in the 2027 production cycle, while a longer-running constraint could eventually lead GMC to revise package content or availability. The distinction will matter to buyers because the Yukon is still early in its 2027 model-year run. Production was scheduled to begin in September 2026 at GM’s Arlington Assembly plant in Texas, and the online configurator only went live shortly before these restrictions emerged. The broader Yukon lineup otherwise continues with three familiar engine choices: a 5.3-liter V8, a 6.2-liter V8 and the available 3.0-liter Duramax turbo-diesel. GMC also lists up to 8,400 pounds of maximum trailering capability when properly equipped. In other words, nothing in the current reporting suggests a broader mechanical problem or major change to the Denali itself. This is a far more targeted problem involving two cosmetic packages. Still, for customers spending premium-SUV money and expecting a very specific factory appearance, a single unavailable grille is enough to change what can be ordered. Until GMC or GM updates availability, shoppers wanting either treatment may have better luck checking already-built dealer inventory than assuming the options shown in older ordering tools can still be added to a new Denali.
